MY TOP 14 BOOKS OF 2014!!!

The year 2014 was absolutely one of the best years I surely had! Especially the books I've read and discovered! So here are My Top 14 Favorite Books of 2014! P.S. Some of the books are not published this year, I choose them as my faves because I only read them this year and the books are in no particular order.

1.CROAK by Gina Damico

So I bought this book at BOOKSALE for only P127.00 and was truly intrigued with the story. It's about a rebellious girl who's always causing trouble and her parents decided her to go out of town and stay with her uncle. But here's a twist, her uncle's the Grim Reaper! Well, let's just say it like that, but overall, it's a kinda creepy yet funny book which I surely recommend!

2. MAXIMUM RIDE SERIES by James Patterson

So I've been searching for the first book of this series since 2012 and only this year I have known that my aunt has the first book which is Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment and of course, I was so stoked! It's about this girl Max and her "flock", yes, like birds because they have wings! Angel wings from a lab experiment. And they are being chased by Erasers, which are wolf-like mutants also created by the School. It's such a fun and an action-packed adventure kind of book which is really suited for children ages 10-15 years old, but it's such a good book for everybody!

Oh, and yeah! The one and only James Patterson replied to my tweet while I'm reading MAX!
This gave me so much joy and hope! LOL! I couldn't imagine the number 1 best selling author of the world would reply to my tweet!

3.STARTERS/ENDERS by Lissa Price

If you're looking for a Sci-Fi and Dystopian read, then this is probably one of the best books I can recommend for you! It's really hard for me to describe this book in a simple manner, so I'll just leave you with the book description and I hope it'll get you out of your house and buy it now! (Hihihi)

Book Description: "Callie lost her parents when the Spore Wars wiped out everyone between the ages of twenty and sixty. She and her little brother, Tyler, go on the run, living as squatters with their friend Michael and fighting off renegades who would kill them for a cookie. Callie's only hope is Prime Destinations, a disturbing place in Beverly Hills run by a mysterious figure known as the Old Man.
He hires teens to rent their bodies to Enders—seniors who want to be young again. Callie, desperate for the money that will keep her, Tyler, and Michael alive, agrees to be a donor. But the neurochip they place in Callie's head malfunctions and she wakes up in the life of her renter, living in her mansion, driving her cars, and going out with a senator's grandson. It feels almost like a fairy tale, until Callie discovers that her renter intends to do more than party—and that Prime Destinations' plans are more evil than Callie could ever have imagined."

4. THE BEGINNING OF EVERYTHING by Robyn Schneider

It's such a good young adult story about coming of age and everybody's tragedy. The story runs through the life of Ezra Miller after causing an accident. He is not popular anymore and couldn't be on the varsity team and ends up meeting the new girl Cassidy which drags him along on her little adventures. I also like about this book is that the humor is great and not to mention the many Harry Potter jokes stated.

5.THE 5TH WAVE by Rick Yancey

Another Heroine in the making! Cassie thought she was the last living thing on planet earth after the 4th wave (Yes, this is another dystopian and post apocalyptic novel, which talks about ALIENS!) not until she met Evan. With a whole lot of bravery, action, drama, hope and survival, this book is surely one of the most detailed books I have ever read. Better read it now before it hits the big screen!!!

6. THE MAZE RUNNER by James Dashner

I basically read the book first before watching it on the big screen, and it is Ah- Mazing!!! I am in love with the twist and horror about the story of the maze. For those who only watched the film, I feel sorry for you because, even if the movie was great, nothing beats the book. It's that because the movie didn't put the most thrilling and important parts of the book that's why I was kinda disappointed about the movie. Furthermore, go and grab and read the book!

7.REVENGE OF SEVEN by Pittacus Lore

The fifth book of the bestselling series is full with more action, revelations and excitement! If you aren't familiar with the story about this series, where are you from? Planet Lorien???!!! Hahaha! I truly enjoyed reading this one and by far my fave book of the series, but as always, it leaves a huge cliffhanger!

8.THE BODY FINDER by Kimberly Derting

Photo from: www.goodreads.com
What would you do if you could sense people's dead bodies? Well, that's what Violet has to struggle in her everyday life. Either it's a blessing or a curse, she helps the ghosts in order for them to "Rest in Peace" and this book is such a chiller! Well, of course, it's a YA book and there are a lot of relationship issues with Violet's best friend/boyfriend Jay. Although it lacks more thrilling moments in the end in my opinion, but I like how the author added the murderer's POV.

9.PAPER TOWNS by John Green

10.TEN by Gretchen McNeil

Now this is a Killer book! Literally! It's like a thriller/slasher/murder film like A Perfect Getaway, House at the End of the Street and Black Christmas where there's a really huge twist in the ending. It's about these ten teens who went to an island to have a cabin party, later do they know one by one they are being killed and there's no way out. Oh, I really want to recommend this to everyone who wants a good thrill ride!

11.CINDER by Marisa Meyer

Once upon a time, in the future, a girl named Cinder(ella) is a cyborg! And of course, there's a prince charming in a place called New Beijing and androids are now housemaids of everybody. There are also people living on the moon called Lunars lead by the evil queen Levana who has this special kind of power that can hypnotize under her control. It's such an amazingly written book, where Marisa Meyer made fairy tale and sci-fi collide greatly together!

And my last three books of 2014 are...

YEAH BABY! Signed books from the authors themselves! (Got them signed last April 26, 2014)

12.INTO THE STILL BLUE by Veronica Rossi
Photo from: Goodreads

Love, Survival and Fantasy. The final book of Aria and Perry's adventure is a journey to tomorrowland! I laughed, I giggled and I got a little teary eyed, it is just a perfect conclusion of the Under the Never Sky series. The ending was just what I wanted to end the story, well done Veronica!!! (Applause)

Here's me and Veronica Rossi, she is such a joyful person and I also said to her that how I wish the book would be a movie and she said she really want it too.

13.HOLLOW CITY by Ransom Riggs
Photo from: Goodreads
Loop de Woop! Jacob's adventure continues in the second book of the Miss Peregrine's Home For Peculiar Children series. He and his peculiar friends must travel to London in the year 1940 in order to save their beloved Miss Peregrine. What I like about this book is that Ransom made the vintage pictures he personally collected into life! And even the pictures would creep the hell out of you, it's so unique and the book is not even a horror novel.(Well, I guess a little. Hahaha) Overall, Jacob's story is both a nightmare and a daydream, and I cannot wait for the movie adaptation of the first book which will be directed by Tim Burton! And also the next book as well.

LOL! Look a t my super excited smile and I also told Ransom that I am so excited for the movie!

14.IGNITE ME by Tahereh Mafi

Last but not the least is Ignite Me. It's perfect, just perfect, although the ending was simple yet leaves me wanting more! There are really good action scenes and also intimate scenes from Juliette and Warner that "Ignites " my imagination (Hahaha) which I love.  And I like that Ignite Me has no more scratches through words, because Juliette is now sure of what she says. For the fans of The Hunger Games, Divergent and Legend, go and start reading this awesome trilogy!

LOL! Look how stupid and wacky I look like meeting Tahereh and I'm holding her shoulder
as well because I just love her so much!!! and also her books!

Well, that was my favorite books that I read in the year 2014. What do you think? Did we have the same book titles as well? Leave a  Comment and share for everybody to know what good book to read!
