Last April 17, 2015, as the same day of their concert, the Irish pop/rock band The Script held an exclusive album signing for only 200 fans.
I was so surprised about the news when Astroplus posted on their Facebook page about an album singing of the Script before their concert on the same day. I was so happy and emotional at the same time because I can see the Irish band in another way because I didn't have enough money to buy a ticket for their concert.
So on the day of the event, I woke up as early as I can in order for me to fall in line and be one of the 200 fans to have a signed CD. Gladly, it wasn't that long for me to get to MOA and the traffic was even manageable. I arrived at the main atrium around 9:30 am and fall in line just in time! I was all by myself because my friend Charlene couldn't make it due to other plans with her family. So I put on my friendly game and asked the person behind me if he was also alone. He said yes and it was a total coincidence that the boy behind me was also from Bacolod named Earl John and he was going to watch the concert later.
The line was now moving and it was our turn to buy the current album of the Script which is called "No Sound Without Silence" and for only PHP 460.00. Me and Earl then decided to eat lunch together since we were both from Bacolod and don't know anybody at that time. As we went back in the circle, we waited for another hour or two for the clock to strike at 3 in the afternoon.
The album artwork and booklet looks so pretty and I'm so happy that there are lyrics of each song in the booklet! |
While waiting... |
Also grabbed this photo from Astroplus' Facebook page and saw myself while waiting for the band to step on stage. |
At 3:30 pm the band arrived with overwhelming applause and cheers as they hit the stage to say hi to all of their fans gathering in the mall. It was surreal seeing them so close and not in your television and computer screens! They were all so tall and they look so flawless, like every other artists and celebrities. They were even singing along to their own songs which was playing in the background. Then it was now time to fall in line again to have our albums to be personally signed by the band up on stage.
I was excited and nervous at the moment of falling in line because I didn't know what to do or say in front of them yet. The only thing I (and I think everybody) hated was the part when we cannot take a picture or even just a quick selfie with the guys because the management were so strict about it and it is only an album signing. Nonetheless, I was still happy for the fact that I will meet the band up close and personal.

As it was my turn to have my album signed, I managed to give the lads a handshake and a quick hug just like all other fans. They were so nice and smiling all out to see how happy their fans was as well. I even said to Danny that I'm sorry for not having a ticket for the show in a way for him to give me free tickets (LOL, I know guys, I tried hard) but all he said back was "Aww shit, that sucks man!" and then the security was forcing me to get off stage immediately. Oh well, that didn't turned out great, but still, I have a signed album of The Script! YEAAAHHHHH!!!
I tried joining several promos and contests to win tickets to see The Script's show that night but it wasn't my luck. But it was definitely OK for me because I've got to meet the band and that is even way more cooler and a great experience. Going home, I posted a photo and the guys liked it on Instagram! Hahaha, that even made my day better and making this one memorable event I will not forget.
My top 5 favorite songs from their album would have to be:
1.Man on a Wire
2.Superheroes
3.Energy Never Dies
4.Paint the Town Green
5.Army of Angels
My biggest thanks to Astroplus for making the event possible and to have us fans meet The Script!
