Disney brings us again another magical and musical adventure to the big screen and into the woods! With an all star cast and a great film production, here's what I say about Disney's first movie release this year!

So basically, Into the Woods is a modern twist on several of the beloved Brothers Grimm fairy tales, intertwining the plots of a few choice stories and exploring the consequences of the characters’ wishes and quests. This heartfelt musical follows the classic tales of Cinderella (Anna Kendrick), Little Red Riding Hood (Lilla Crawford), Jack and the Beanstalk (Daniel Huttlestone), and Rapunzel (MacKenzie Mauzy)—all tied together by an original story involving a baker and his wife (James Corden & Emily Blunt), their wish to have a baby and their interaction with the witch (Meryl Streep) who has put a curse on them.
I was able to watch the movie before the release date because it has leaked in the internet and was spread in every different movie streaming website. Thus, it made me excited to watch the film before anyone else. The setting of the film is clearly great, which made me think if the woods is magical or creepy and the musical scoring was outstanding as well. At first I didn't realize that the film was a musical after watching the second trailer.

I would like to give a big round of applause to Meryl Streep's performance in the film, she basically nailed it being an ugly and hideous witch. As for the other casts, I was thrilled to see Anna Kendrick in another music themed film and also Chris Pine! I was absolutely surprised that he could sing well, not great but just well. (Haha) And let's not forget about Johnny freaking Depp playing the sexy and creepy wolf. He's just that actor everybody loves and the way he act as the wolf was excellent! Although, his show in the film was just not more than 20 minutes! Even my grandaunt was disappointed about it! Hahaha!

Overall, the movie was good and it is very family friendly. There are a lot of values and lessons (Well, of course, in every fairy tale) which everyone will learn. The best part for me is when the characters would sing so fast in a conversation they are having with one another and the other would be the humor (Which is only a little) I found funny in the film. But the ending leaves me hanging, I feel like I need to know what will happen to the main characters' lives after the tragedy which happened in the film. So I'm going to give Into the Woods a 3.5 star rating.
★★★/3.5 Stars
