Lunch at Sandok Comfort Food

One of my friends in high school (Hey Trisha! Hahaha) told me about this place which serves "Lutong Bahay" meals at Shopping Center called Sandok Comfort food. I was  quite curious about it and really catches my attention. So today, my aunt, her co-faculty mate Tita Au and I went to lunch there since me and my aunt really wanted to try and taste their food.

As you can see in the picture above, the look of the place outside might not really look like an actual restaurant right? It's just plain and boring and Tita Au was shocked as well. (Hehehe) But when we went inside, I kinda like the simplicity theme of their interior design. With bricks on the wall on the left side and hanging frames with famous quotes on it. But what really catches the attention of everybody is the quote they painted by Julia Child "People Who Love to Eat are always the Best People" on the wall once you step inside.

So once we are seated at our table, we didn't really know what to order since it is our first time to eat in this place. So we decided to order their KBL (Kadios Baboy Langka), Lumpiang Shanghai and Lechon Kawali since each meal is good for 2 persons, we decided to share each dish. I was quite fascinated with their table number because they put it on an actual "sandok" which really goes along with the name of the place.

When our food arrives, it was great to see that the soup we ordered (which is KBL) is still bursting with bubbles and it is surely fresh from the stove! And it was good as well, you can really taste the flavor and ingredients of the dish. Their Lumpiang Shanghai was scrumptious too, but I really didn't like their sauce for it, it just seems like an ordinary ketchup you bought in a  supermarket. But from the three dishes we ordered my favorite was their Lechon Kawali which I picked and I was happy enough that it tasted delicious!

After we finished eating, we were so full that we couldn't even order dessert anymore.

Leaving big smiles on our faces!

Overall, I was pretty satisfied with the food and place and so does my aunt and Tita Au. The prices might be a bit pricey if you're a student, but it's a good deal because their servings are good for 2-3 people, which you and your friends could share and might as well split the bill. They also have meals served with rice as well and they also serve breakfast!

The quality and taste of their food are great which I recommend to everybody to try and visit their place! They are located at Narra Avenue, Capitol Shopping Center, Bacolod City (In front of City Lunch and Sofia's Bakeshop) and open from 7 in the morning until 8:30 in the evening.

So if you're craving for Ilonggo homecooked meals, go and have your lunch or dinner at Sandok! It will be worth it and wants you to come back for more!
