MOCKINGJAY Part 1 (Review)

"Are you, are you
Coming to the tree
Wear a necklace of rope,
Side by side with me.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it be
If we met at midnight
In the hanging tree."

HOLY MOTHER MOUNTAIN OF GOD!!! As a BIG fan of the books and the first two films, Mockingjay Part 1 exhilarates tributes (Hunger Games fan base) and leaves everybody wanting more! There might be some spoilers in this review,so if you  have not watched the film yet, I suggest you must, RIGHT NOW! And come back and read this article. (haha)

The first part of the epic conclusion of Suzanne Collin's novel takes us to District 13 and the more in depth life of "the girl on fire" Katniss Everdeen. After shooting the arrow on the arena at the 75th Annual Hunger Games or Quarter Quell, Katniss (played by Oscar awarded Jennifer Lawrence) was taken by the rebellion group of District 13. It is an underground facility with their very own president Coin (played by Julianne Moore) which she wants Katniss to be the symbol of the rebellion or as the Mockingjay. With Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) took as a prisoner and was being tortured by President Snow (Donald Sutherland) in the Capitol, Katniss feels more weight on her shoulders and now that there is no more District 12 as well.

As the movie goes on and on, some might find it boring because there is no more actual games in this movie, but with more scenes at District 13 and the starting of a war. For me, the movie was well made and so good that it satisfy my expectations. They also took some part of the books, but it was still okay because it was not important anyway. They also put more additional scenes into the film like Effie is in District 13 the whole time. In the book, Effie was not there at all but it gave the fans (and me as well) a positive vibe about it. Also, when Gale (Liam Hemsworth) and District 13 soldiers tried to rescue Peeta and the other victors in the Capitol were genius and made me thrilled with much excitement.

But my most favorite part of the movie is when Peeta strangled Katniss after he was rescued! I mean talk about that grip and choke slam and Oh My Gawd! The makeup and effects as well on both Josh and Jennifer's faces! (Applause) They really did a great job acting on that part, I was in full awe in the cinema! (Hahaha) At the end of the movie, Lorde's Yellow Flicker Beat was played and it sounds by the way, Amazing! (And the Soundtrack album is genius ass well)

Overall, Francis Lawrence (LOL! No, he's not Jennifer's dad or something haha) the director of Mockingjay and also Catching Fire did an amazingly tremendous job! And when I found out (since Catching Fire) that he was the director of I Am Legend, Constantine, and also some of the Black Eyed Peas' and Lady Gaga's video of the decade, Bad Romance, I was even more happy and has full trust that this film would turn out great.
