"Goodbye ARTPOP era and goodbye artRAVE", this is what most Little Monsters around the globe saying that Lady Gaga's ARTPOP journey has come to an end. But for me, it lives on with my life forever.
Last November 24, 2014 Lady Gaga performed her last and final show of her artRAVE: the ARTPOP Ball Tour in Paris, France. It was live-streamed to the whole world presented by Yahoo! and Live Nation Productions. Well of course, as a Little Monster (Paws Up! LOL) I was pretty stoked when Mother Monster posted the BIG news herself. I was so darn happy because I can now finally experience the artRAVE even it is just on my computer screen.
As she performed the title track of the album, which is "Artpop" as her intro, rising above the stage with magical wings,a blonde wig, a Versace swimsuit with a glazing ball on her chest and not to mention, her glazing ass! Then she continued with Zedd produced tracks, "G.U.Y.(Girl Under You)" and "Donatella" which the choreo slays!
As she does a quick change, Gaga is back with her iconic "Aphrodite lady seashell bikini" costume and sang hit promotional single "Venus". "MANiCURE" is next with Gaga being a total performer, jumping up and down and screaming at the whole arena (and world) to get your ass up and dance!
Another interlude, then Gaga is back performing all time number 1 hits singles like "Just Dance", "Poker Face" and "Telephone". During this part of the show, this made me sing along to the lyrics of every song as Gaga dances and sang along with so much joy and energy.
This time with another outrageous and bizarre costume, she's back with everybody's favorite radio friendly track "Paparazzi", wearing an octopus like dress and body suit. "Do What U Want" then comes up next while sitting on a big paw and singing the meaningful lyrics above the crowd. After two feel good tracks, she moves her way down to her piano and sang the very emotional and personal song she has written "Dope". After that, fans got a little rock and roll as she performed "You and I" with over the top vocals! (Slay Queen!) Then she grabbed a letter from a fan (which her fans throws onto her stage) and let that lucky fan comes up on stage and sat beside her on the piano while singing the song that changed every Monster's life, "Born This Way" in a more stripped down version.
She comes back to the stage while singing a short acapella version of "The Edge of Glory" and then brings evil (it's a metaphor people!) with her black leather jacket and latex suit to perform her most controversial song "Judas" and then stops at the last part of the song "...Gaga" and then it mixes in with "Aura". That has to be one of my fave part of the show! hahaha. Then an intimate and hot performance of "Sexxx Dreams", follow up by the Madeon produced track "Mary Jane Holland" (which is my least fave song from the album) and ends with the most sultry and dramatic performance of the crowd favorite "Alejandro". But, Gaga went back on stage with her Afro wig and now with a red leather jacket on as she perform the Cher classic "Bang Bang" off from her number 1 jazz album with Tony Bennett.
In the last set of the show, Gaga got naked in front of her audiences as she changed into her Harajuku inspired costume with neon hair and also the dancers clothes are cool as well! Performing the song that first made people go GAGA, "Bad Romance".It was so much fun to watch Gaga in that costume, and while singing the song, she just looks so Kawaii! Then, with a little message for her fans that you need to believe in yourself and be the artist in your own life, Gaga then proceeds to "Applause". When the beat of "Swine" drops, it was a total rave! Gaga went actually gaga! Jumping, running and moving her whole body at the same time! (Now be careful Gaga! We don't want your hip to get injured again! haha)
Backstage, Gaga looks so very emotional as she feels now that this is the last time she'll be singing her encore song "Gypsy". As she walks down the stage in her custom Versace dress and long white hair, Gaga surely felt sad and happy at the same time as fans sang along to the chorus of Queen's song "Radio Gaga" (which by the way where Lady Gaga got the idea of calling herself Gaga for those of you who didn't know). "As this song goes over, the clock will start ticking until the next time" said Gaga as fans cheered for her with love and joy. (even I did haha) Gaga didn't disappoint the crowd where she raises her powerful voice and sang euphorically. As the show comes to an end, backstage footage let audience around the globe see Gaga kissing her stage and celebrates with the Haus of Gaga and then that's it, artRAVE is over.
Overall, the show was absolutely stunning, colorful and magical! If there was an artRAVE in my country, I would've starved myself to death and save up all my money just to watch the freaking show! If you really want to experience artRAVE as well, good thing there's a video available on YouTube! Go watch it below and have a blast!
